Turning pages into images is what you do when a PDF needs to go somewhere that does not accept PDFs: a slide, a web page, a chat message, a design tool, a printed proof.
Pages are rendered on your machine at a resolution you choose, and exported as standard JPG or PNG files.
Nothing you do here is uploaded. The file is read into your browser's memory, processed by WebAssembly on your own machine, and written straight back to your downloads folder. You can confirm it yourself: open DevTools, switch to the Network tab, and run the tool — there is no request carrying your document, because there is no server endpoint to receive it.
