Sign PDF

Draw, type or upload your signature and sign PDFs offline. Signatures are stored only on your device.

PDF Vault lets you sign a PDF by drawing, typing, or uploading a signature and placing it on the page locally, so neither the document nor the signature is ever uploaded.

Electronic signatures are legally recognised in most jurisdictions under frameworks such as the US ESIGN Act and the EU's eIDAS regulation. What varies enormously is what the signing service does with your document afterwards.

The mainstream e-signature platforms keep a copy of every agreement you sign, on their infrastructure, under their retention policy. For a freelance contract, an NDA, or an HR form, that is often more exposure than the situation calls for.

Here, your signature is drawn onto the page in your browser and saved only in your own local storage. The signed PDF is generated on your machine and downloaded. No account, no cloud record, no audit trail held by us — because we never see the file.

How to sign a PDF without uploading it

  1. Load the PDF you need to sign.
  2. Draw your signature on the signature pad, type it, or upload an image of it.
  3. Drag the signature onto the right spot on the page and resize it to fit the line.
  4. Add a date or initials if the document needs them, then export the signed PDF.

What you get

  • Draw, type, or upload. Three ways to produce a signature, including an image of a real ink signature.
  • Saved signatures. Reusable signature templates are kept in your browser's local storage, never on a server.
  • Place it precisely. Drag and resize onto the exact signature line rather than accepting a fixed position.
  • No account needed. Sign and download without creating a login or handing over an email address.

Frequently asked questions

Is a signature made this way legally binding?

Electronic signatures are broadly recognised under ESIGN in the US and eIDAS in the EU, and a drawn signature applied to a PDF is a common form of one. What a particular contract or regulator requires is a legal question — if a matter is high-stakes, check what evidence of signing your counterparty needs.

Where is my saved signature stored?

In your browser's local storage on that device only. It is not synced, not uploaded, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Can I add a digital certificate signature?

This tool applies a visible signature image to the page. Cryptographic certificate-based signing (PAdES) is a different mechanism and is not currently supported.

Can several people sign the same document?

Yes, in sequence — each person signs the file they receive and passes on the signed version. There is no server-side routing workflow, by design.
